Lead Pastor
Wayne was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. After graduating from Godby High School, he went on to play two years of college baseball before returning home due to an injury that ended his playing career.
After returning home, Wayne met his wife, Trina, the daughter and granddaughter of Baptist pastors. While dating Trina, he attended church with her on Easter Sunday, where he experienced a powerful and life-changing salvation. From that moment, Wayne sensed a clear calling to share the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ with others.
He later answered the call to preach and was ordained in 2011. Wayne also earned his Bachelor of Divinity as he continued to grow in his calling and preparation for ministry.
Wayne and Trina have faithfully served in children’s, youth, and college ministries, and Wayne has filled pulpits in churches throughout the surrounding area. He also served 13 years in law enforcement before stepping into his current role as Lead Pastor at FBCWS.
Wayne and Trina have been married for 22 years and are blessed with two daughters, Annesley and Averey. They also share their home with three beloved dogs: a German Shepherd named Maggie, a Doberman named Maverick, and a Goldendoodle named Piper. Wayne is an avid sports fan who loves the Seminoles and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.

Casey comes to us from right here in Crawfordville, bringing with him a passion for ministry, a heart for young people, and a deep love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
Joining him in this exciting new chapter are his wonderful wife, Lauren, and their four amazing children: Emma, Ellie, Evelyn, and Silas. We are so grateful to welcome this beautiful family into our church family and look forward to seeing the relationships they build within our church and community.
Casey has a genuine desire to encourage young people in their walk with Christ and to help create an environment where they feel welcomed, valued, and excited to grow in their faith. His heart for ministry is evident in the way he connects with others and in his willingness to serve wherever there is a need.
Casey’s love for the Lord, commitment to investing in the next generation, warm spirit, and seemingly endless energy make him a true blessing to our church and community. His enthusiasm and passion for ministry bring life and excitement to the people around him. We are excited to see how God continues to use him and his family as they serve alongside us and become an even greater part of the life and ministry of First Baptist Church of Wakulla Station.

Kendal "kenny" Cook
Worship leader
Kendal is grateful and blessed to be taking his first step into ministry as the Worship Leader at First Baptist Church of Wakulla Station. Born in Tallahassee and raised primarily in Crawfordville, with a few stops along the way, Kendal graduated from Wakulla High School before attending Valdosta State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Mass Media.
In 2019, while speaking at his father’s funeral, Kendal publicly declared his faith and surrendered his life to the Lord. From that moment forward, he began seeking every opportunity to serve, from the sound booth to the pulpit. Just one week after graduating from college, Kendal walked through the doors of First Baptist Church of Wakulla Station with a desire to serve wherever God could use him. That desire has now led him into his role as Worship Leader.
Kendal’s love and passion for the Lord have given him a deep desire to spend his life serving Christ in whatever capacity God places before him. He is excited to see how the Lord continues to work through him at First Baptist Church of Wakulla Station and throughout the years ahead. His favorite Bible verse is James 1:12: “Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”

ASHLEY BARBER
ADMINISTRATOR
First as a church member and now serving as our Church Administrator, Ashley Barber has become a valued part of our church family and leadership team.
Ashley grew up in church and is originally from Tallahassee, Florida. She graduated from SAIL High School and now lives in Crawfordville, Florida, with three of her four children: Jayden, Wayne, and Natalie. Her oldest son, Pierce, their angel in Heaven, continues to hold a very special place in their hearts.
Ashley is actively involved in the life and ministry of our church. Her passions include crafting, dancing, helping others, and working with children. Her eagerness to serve, joyful spirit, and genuine love for people are just a few of the ways she reflects the fruit of the Spirit described in Galatians 5:22–25: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
We are excited to see how God will continue to use Ashley’s enthusiasm, love, creativity, and servant’s heart to help strengthen and grow our church ministry. We believe it was not by chance, but with purpose, that God brought Ashley into this season of church leadership.
