Head Pastor
Wayne was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. After graduating from Godby High School, Wayne went on to play two years of college baseball before returning home after an injury which left him unable to continue playing. Upon returning home from college, Wayne met his wife Trina who was the daughter and granddaughter of Baptist pastors. While dating Trina, Wayne began attending church and got saved on Easter Sunday, 2004. Wayne immediately felt the call to teach and tell other people about the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Wayne eventually accepted the call to preach and was ordained in 2011. Wayne and Trina have served in children, youth, and college ministries. They lead their college group in Tallahassee on a mission trip to Costa Rica in August of 2014. Wayne’s biblical studies are currently ongoing at The Bible Doctrine Institute in Jacksonville, Florida where he is working toward a Master's degree in Theology. Wayne has filled the pulpit in churches all over our area. He has also spent the last 12 years in law enforcement. Wayne accepted a position at his first church in 2017 on a bi-vocational basis. In January of 2022, Wayne was called to fill the role as full-time pastor at First Baptist Church of Wakulla Station. Wayne and Trina have been married for 18 years and have two daughters, Annesley and Averey. They also have 2 dogs, Roxie and Maggie, and six goats, Brownie, Nick, Hershey, Faith, Hope, & Joy. Wayne enjoys baseball, coaching his daughter's high school softball team with Trina, the outdoors, boating, and spending time with his family.
