wayne baker
Lead Pastor
Wayne was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. After graduating from Godby High School, he went on to play two years of college baseball before returning home due to an injury that ended his playing career.
After returning home, Wayne met his wife, Trina, the daughter and granddaughter of Baptist pastors. While dating Trina, he attended church with her on Easter Sunday, where he experienced a powerful and life-changing salvation. From that moment, Wayne sensed a clear calling to share the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ with others.
He later answered the call to preach and was ordained in 2011. Wayne also earned his Bachelor of Divinity as he continued to grow in his calling and preparation for ministry.
Wayne and Trina have faithfully served in children’s, youth, and college ministries, and Wayne has filled pulpits in churches throughout the surrounding area. He also served 13 years in law enforcement before stepping into his current role as Lead Pastor at FBCWS.
Wayne and Trina have been married for 22 years and are blessed with two daughters, Annesley and Averey. They also share their home with three beloved dogs: a German Shepherd named Maggie, a Doberman named Maverick, and a Jackapoo named Roxie. Wayne is an avid sports fan who loves the Seminoles and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.

Kendal "kenny" cook
Worship leader
Kendal is grateful and blessed to be taking his first step into ministry as Worship Leader at First Baptist Church Wakulla Station. He was born in Tallahassee, and raised largely in Crawfordville with a few stops along the way. He graduated from Wakulla High School and went on to pursue and receive a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Mass Media at Valdosta State University. In 2019, he declared his faith and surrendered his life to the Lord while speaking at his father‘s funeral. He went on to find every opportunity to serve from the sound booth to the pulpit. Just one week after graduating college, he walked into First Baptist Church of Wakulla Station with a desire to serve, which brings him to now. His love and passion for the Lord gives him a desire to make a living serving the Lord in whatever way it presents itself, and he is so excited to see how God works here as well as the rest of his life. His favorite Bible verse is James 1:12, which says, “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”

ASHLEY BARBER
ADMINISTRATOR
First as a church member, now she is serving as the church administrator. Ashley Barber grew up in Church. She is from Tallahassee, Florida, graduated from SAIL high school and now lives in Crawfordville, Florida with 3 out of 4 of her children, Jayden, Wayne, and Natalie. Her oldest, their Angel, Pierce watches over them from Heaven. Ashley actively serves in the church. Her passions include crafting, dancing, helping and working with children. Ashley’s eagerness to serve and her love for others is just a couple ways she embodies the fruits of the spirit. (Galatians 5:22-25 But the fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. )We can’t wait to see how she will help the church to grow with her enthusiasm, love, creativity, and joyful spirit. Not by chance but, with purpose she became part of our church leadership.
